Description
Stern Cardiovascular is a 46-physician-led practice currently seeking an ABIM Board certified cardiologist with subspecialty training in Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology. This is a unique opportunity to join a team collaborating with Baptist Memorial Hospital, a multi-hospital system in the Memphis metropolitan area that has performed cardiac transplants since 1985. The program is also one of the leading LVAD and small device clinics in the nation, with LVADS increasing from 43 in 2024 to 82 in 2025. We provide inpatient, outpatient, and critical care services to heart failure and transplant patients. The outreach program is expanding with patient encounters increasing from 615 in 2024 to 705 in 2025. There is a comprehensive multidisciplinary team that includes heart failure nurses, 8 transplant and LVAD coordinators, 5 nurse practitioners, 2 social workers, 2 dedicated pharmacists, a financial manager, a dietician, therapy services, and a program administrator. There is seamless access to diagnostics such as ECHO, cardiopulmonary exercise testing, Cath lab, and lab testing.
Requirements
MD/DO Board Certified in Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology. Strong leadership, teamwork, and commitment to quality, patient-centered care. Experience with LVAD, ECMO, and transplant patients.
