























Description
Eastern Virginia Medical School (EVMS) is seeking a Registered Nurse within the Internal Medicine Department. The candidate will provide Medicare Wellness exams for our patients to enhance patient wellness and assist our department in meeting and/or exceeding emerging quality metrics associated with these visits. This role will be paid per each encounter accompanied by a completed note in the EHR. These appointments usually take approximately 1 hour. The payment methodology is designed to allow for increased efficiency and productivity.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with public, partners, customers, and co-workers; while working cooperatively and effectively with others to achieve common goals.
- Ability to manage time and resources to ensure assignments are completed accurately and deadlines are met. Meets attendance/punctuality requirements.
- Ability to adapt to changing work environments, work priorities, and organizational needs with enthusiasm and energy. Takes independent action to address and resolve problems.
- Ability to expresses ideas effectively and demonstrate sound judgment with regard to decision-making.
- Ability to deal with others in a direct honest manner and comply with all EVMS policies and procedure.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions and percentages. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and statistical analysis.
Medicare Wellness Exams:
The RN will conduct wellness visits. Medicare guidelines are used for conducting these interviews, documenting and billing of visit. All visits require proper documentation of findings, which are entered into the EHR. Discussion of annual exams is included and documented such as mammograms, eye and foot exams and colonoscopy.
Complete all “tasks” related to the patient visit.
Respond to questions from patients, family members, faculty/residents, other health care providers in a timely and professional manner.
Follow EVMS/EVMSMG protocols related to infection control, environmental safety and patient confidentiality. Complete annual recertification for OSHA, Blood Borne Pathogens, Compliance, Respiratory FIT and IT policy. Maintain current CPR certification and nursing license.

Requirements
We are seeking a highly qualified individual who has completed a program of instruction for licensure as a Registered Nurse and is in possession of a current Virginia license. The ideal candidate must have completed a BLS class and is required to re-certify every 2 years. The optimal candidate must have at least two (2) years of experience working as a Registered Nurse (RN).
